The Heart-warming Story of Homeless Orphans and Their Stray Dogs in Bangladesh

This is the heart-warming story of a community of homeless orphans and their stray dogs that live on the streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Separated from their parents or orphaned in the slums, the boys form close bonds with their adopted animals. The location for these photos was Robindra Shorbod, a park where the kids gather together to sell recyclable plastic containers in order to buy food which they also lovingly share with their canine companions, Tiger, Romeo, Bullet, Kula, Moti, Michael, Tom, Jax, Lalu, and Bagha.

Whilst travelling in Bangladesh photographer Sam Edmonds met the boys through the Obhoyaronno, an organization which is committed to changing the horrific killing of street dogs in the region. Obhoyaronno does a lot ensure the dogs are treated well and as humane as possible by spaying, neutering, and vaccinating animals before returning them where they were found. The ten dogs that live with the boys have also been given this treatment and have a small tear in the ear to signify that they are uninfected with rabies.

Because they only have each other the close bond that the boys have developed with their canine friends is like no other, and truly a heart-warming story.
