There had been a long period of heavy snow and wind but after it had cleared photographer Marko Korosec thought he would take the opportunity to go and explore and it certainly paid off.
These incredible windswept ice formations on top of Mount Javornik, part of a mountain range in eastern Slovenia look like rock formations from another planet. Everything from trees to lookout towers had become completely encased in ice formed by the strong winds and freezing fog. The photographer said that some of the icicles where more than 100cm long.
