The reason why this little boy is flying in all of these photographs will melt your heart. Meet 1-year old William Lawrence, otherwise known as Wil, who is the youngest in his family. Wil was born slightly different to the rest of his siblings as he has Down syndrome but his dad Alan doesn’t want that to get in the way of enjoying his life to the full, which is why he created this adorable photo series.
Alan lives in Utah with his wife and 5 kids and has another on the way, but still finds the time to take these photos in the hope that Wil will be inspired by them, “These photos of Wil flying have taken on a special meaning for me as I think about the unique challenges Wil is going to face growing up. I hope to teach him that even with his disabilities he can do anything he puts his mind to.”
He creates the photos by photographing himself holding up Wil and then Photoshops himself out of the picture. Alan also has another project called “Bringing The Light,” which hopes to support other families living with down syndrome. You can learn more about it here.
