Maggie the Australian shepherd had her puppies taken away from her before she was put up for adoption herself. After finally being adopted Maggie's new owners decided to keep her in a kennel for the night in Barker’s Pet Motel in Alberta, but they never could have guessed what would happen next, Maggie escaped!

After hearing the cries of a group of puppies that had also just lost their mum Maggie escaped to be with them. Maggie's escape was caught on camera at the kennel after the owners went out for dinner and checked on the cameras remotely. Shocked to find that Maggie had escaped they returned to find her waiting outside the pen of the nine-week-old puppies. “She’d do the little bow down to them and poke them through the chainlink gate of their room,” Pet motel owner Sandra Aldred told CBC.

“She was really happy, and then she took me back to their room as if to say: “I really need to meet these puppies. They were just all so happy to be together. The puppies needed her and she needed them. It was pretty perfect.”
