Optical illusions often trick the eye into seeing something that isn’t actually happening but this optical illusion is slightly different as it manages to do the impossible – make something disappear right in front of your eyes.
The longer you stare at the image below the more it disappears until all you can see is white. Unfortunately we don’t have a scientific explanation as to why this happens although some suggest that the illusion works by overloading the colour-detecting cells in our eyes. Try it out for yourself!
