Pilot Captures Once in a Lifetime Photo of Storm 37,000 Feet Above Pacific Ocean

We’re used to covering epic photos on the blog but none quite like this photo taken by LATAM Ecuador Airlines pilot Santiago Borja from the cockpit of a Boeing 767-300 as he flew over the Pacific Ocean just south of Panama.

Taken at the perfect moment as a powerful thunderstorm emits a flash of lightning the picture really is a once in a lifetime photo opportunity given that the weather was bad and it was pretty much pitch-black.

“I like this photo so much because you can feel the amazing size of the storm and its power,” he told the Washington Post and we couldn’t agree more. You can see more of Borja’s awesome work over on Instagram.
