Knowing that photographer Felix Hernandez Rodriguez has a special talent for taking photographs on a miniature scale it should come as no surprise that when Audi commissioned him to shoot the $160,000 Audi R8, he didn’t need the car.
Instead Rodriguez used a $40 scale model and built the set and scenery to match. Without the aid of Photoshop he added in props, lighting and used in-camera effects and techniques to create the stunning photos you see below.
The coolest part is that if you weren’t told that what you’re looking at is a $40 model you would never be able to tell. Using a toy car for a super car photoshoot might sound ridiculous but as always Rodriguez pulled it off flawlessly.
