Poland Introduces Glow in the Dark Cycle Path That’s Powered by the Sun

Already one of the most eco-friendly ways of getting around, the Polish town of Lidzbark Warminski just unveiled an awesome solar-powered bike lane that charges during the day and lights up at night.

The glow in the dark cycle path was created by TPA Instytut Badań Technicznych Sp. z o.o. and has been made using a synthetic material that can give off a blue glow for up to 10 hours a night after spending a day exposed to the sun.

Originally inspired by the Starry Night bike lane that popped up in the Netherlands back in 2014 this one has a slight difference, rather than being powered by LED’s the cycle path relies purely on solar energy making it far more eco-friendly. Given how awesome it looks as well, this is a trend we’d love to see not just in Poland or the Netherlands but in every country in the future.
