There’s an Entire Museum Dedicated to Rubbish Art and It’s a Sight to Behold

Art is something to be celebrated whether it’s good or bad, at least that’s what The Museum of Bad Art, or MOBA as it’s also known would have you believe. Founded in 1993 the museum is the world’s first dedicated entirely to the worst the art world has to offer with one ambition to bring “the worst of art to the widest of audiences.” The need for such a museum was realised one day by antique dealer Scott Wilson after he came across a piece in the trash called Lucy In The Field With Flowers, one of the first ever pieces to be exhibited in the museum.

The museum started out life as a small gallery in a basement but since then has expanded into 3 galleries based in both the Boston and Massachusetts area with 250 pieces of terrible art permanently in its collection and even more that come and go.

Over the years the MOBA has become something of a leader in the world of bad art. It may not be the museum that most artists aim to ever get into, but at least for those whose dream it is to one day exhibit some sort artwork, even for the less talented amongst us a glimmer of hope still remains. Check out some of the worst the museum has to offer below. You can learn more about the museum of bad art by visiting here.
