As kids we were often told not to play with our food however an artist that goes by the name of Gaku over on Instagram clearly never listened because they turn their food into delicately carved works of art that are pretty damn satisfying to look at - and certainly too good looking to eat.

From fruits to vegetables Gaku practices the traditional Japanese art of mukimono which can be translated to "stripped product," a truly fitting description of the artists sculptures and carvings. The tradition grew in popularity in Japan during the 16th century and takes speed as well as skill - carvers must work fast to avoid the oxidisation of their artworks. Clearly this is something that Gaku has mastered because each of the artists carvings on Instagram is incredibly pleasing to look at.
