This Glowing Dress Stole the Show at the 2016 Met Gala

Real life Cinderella.
Publish date:

When the organisers of this years Met Ball set the theme as Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, they probably didn't expect one persons outfit to steal the entire show, and yet that's exactly what Claire Danes' dress did. The technology related theme seemed fitting considering it was sponsored by Apple and the dress that was designed by Zac Posen certainly fitted.

The dress is made from fibre optic woven organza and contains 30 mini battery packs hidden within it's understructure so that when the lights go out, the dress quite literally comes to life. The Met Gala is held every year at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. Tickets come at a premium but the money raised goes towards funding the department.
