These fantastic photographers were taken by New York photographer Vivian Maier who took thousands of photos of NYC in the 1950s and 60s. Sadly it was until 2 years after her death, that in 2011 her photographs were recognised for their raw beauty after historian and collector John Maloof brought a collection of her photos at auction. He later went on to purchase the rest of her collection.
Its a tragedy that Vivian Maier was not recognised for the brilliant photographer she was during her life time.
