If your dream job is to be cold, wet and have sleepless nights on a freezing rough ocean, then you are going to be very jealous of these guys. These pictures were taken by Portland artist Corey Arnold, as he documented what its like to be onboard a commercial fishing boat for months at a time.
Commercial fishing is not easy, but somehow he seems to make it look fun.
Its cold and tiring, yet they put on a brave face.
Corey started fishing in early 2002, when the economy was in trouble.
Its a tough life, so its important to still try and have fun.
He still managed to capture some great photos.
It can sometimes get lonely.
There are plenty of wild encounters.
And at times its harsh and unforgiving.
But it doesn’t phase these men.
There is potential to lose a finger or two.
The seas can get incredibly rough.
Corey compiled all of his best photos and adventures into one book called Fish-Work: The Bering Sea.
This job is certainly not for everyone, but those who choose to embrace it will have life experiences that most of us never will.
