What This Homeless South African Man Does to Make a Living Is Truly Inspiring

This homeless mans story will truly inspire you. Meet Philani Dladl, a 24 year old who loves books and lives on the streets of Johannesburg, South Africa. Instead of struggling to survive on the street Philani has come up with a creative way of making a living. He reads books, reviews them and then tries to sell them to make a living.

His interest and passion for reading was sparked after he was able to give up his drug addiction through reading self help books. He can be found carrying his books with him wherever he goes, and thanks to the video below which was made by South African filmmaker Tebogo Malope, many passers by now stop and chat to Philani.

In order to inspire a younger generation to read more Philani only charges adults for the books he sells and gives away books for free to children who are interested in reading.
