These incredible sculptures created by artist John Bisbee are all made using the most unlikely of materials. Nails. The inspiration for his art came about when he was first in college and was searching an abandoned house for materials to use in a found-object sculpture project when he came across a bucket of old rusty nails, the rest was history.
Since then the artist has spent nearly 30 years using nails as a medium to create these beautiful geometric sculptures and installations. In order to create the sculptures Bisbee hammers, welds and bends the nails into place. The artist describes the nails as his line, “A nail, like a line, can and will do almost anything. What can’t you draw with a line? The nail is just my line.”
