This short film put together by filmmaker Danny Cook shows Pripyat which is an abandoned city near to Chernobyl, Ukraine. The city of Pripyat was quickly evacuated in 1986 after a disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power station. The quick evacuation meant that many items and personal belongings were left behind making it appear as if its a city from a post-apocalyptic world.
Entering the city is still dangerous due to radiation although it is allowed providing you take a guide with you. Armed with a geiger counter and his camera Cook explored the city. He also used a DJI Phantom 2 drone and a GoPro3+ to capture the abandoned city from above like we’ve never seen before.
