This has to be the most glorious videos of our planet ever created. Using photographs taken from the Elektro-L weather satellite every 30 minutes James Tyrwhitt-Drake has put together this timelapse of our planet in glorious 4K – better than HD!.
The timelapse looks at earth between the 15th and the 19th of may 2011. Satellite Elektro-L is located 40,000 km above the Indian ocean and orbits earth at a speed that enables it to stay in the same position.
You might be wondering why you can’t see city lights and bright stars surrounding earth? thats because the light reflected off of earth from the sun is far brighter.
