Giant Glass Sculpture of an Ocean Wave Frozen at Mid-Crest by Mario Ceroli

Mario Ceroli is one of the most influential artists of the Italian post-war scene according to New York Times, however he remains one of the least known about. Some of his most incredible works of art are sculptures like the one you see below that depict waves mid-crest made entirely of glass.

His work looks as if it carries so much momentum that it could come crashing down at any moment but yet it remains perfectly poised at its most beautiful moment. Ceroli’s work has likely inspired many glass works that we’ve covered such as these layered glass sculptures by Ben Young and this amazing glass table by Duffy London.
