Mechanical Kinetic Sculptures by Bob Potts Inspired by Animals

Artist Bob Potts uses hand crafted mechanical gears, cranks and chains to replicate kinetic sculptures of birds and fish, as well as other natural motions. At 72-years-old Potts knows everything about craftsmanship that there is to know, which shines through not only in the way they look but the way they move too.

Each piece can take him up to a year to complete and he works entirely from hand without the aid of a computer, but why would he need one anyway when no computer can match his years of expertise.
