The 10 Deadliest Animals in the World

The animal kingdom can be a pretty scary and threatening place, but its also a beautiful one too. Many people have a fear of the small insects, bugs, spiders and snakes that you will see on this list and it turns out its for good reason too. Although many of the worlds deadliest animals live in the ocean, so just stay out of the sea! problem solved.

You might find some of the animals on this list quite surprising though. In no particular order here are the 10 deadliest animals in the world.

1. Black Mamba

The Black Mamba doesn’t look as threatening as the hooded cobra but it is equally as dangerous. It can strike very quickly and has been known to chase its victims and an incredible speed, often striking without any provocation.

2. Blue Ringed Octopus

The Blue Ringed Octopus might only be the size of a golf ball but don’t let that fool you. Despite its size it has enough venom to kill 26 fully grown adults to which their is no antidote. The venom can completely paralyse a human within minutes which can cause breathing to stop.

3. Box Jellyfish

There are numerous species of box jellyfish and most of them are pretty dangerous but the sea wasp box jellyfish is perhaps the most deadly of them all. This innocent looking translucent creature has the most venomous sting in the animal kingdom. Their sting can kill but if you survive the pain can last a very long time afterwards.

4. The Brazilian Wandering Spider

The Brazilian Wandering Spider is the most venomous spider in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Their deadly venom coupled with the fact that they like to wonder, hence the name, means they can come into contact with us humans easily. Not good.

5. Cape Buffalo

The Cape Buffalo roams the African grasslands and has been known to charge and victims without warning. Even though they weigh up to 2,000 pounds they are still able to charge at speeds of up to 40 miles an hour. They don’t have a problem charging vehicles either.

6. Cone Snail

The cone snail doesn’t look like a deadly creature but it’s venom is highly toxic. Just a small drop is strong enough to kill twenty fully grown adults. Their is no antidote and being stung will likely result in death within minutes.

7. Deathstalker Scorpion

This little scorpion is responsible for around three fourths of all scorpion related deaths every year. Children are more likely to die from this scorpions venom than adults are.

8. Driver Ants

Danger in numbers applies to the Driver Ant which can come in swarms of up to 50,000,000. Although they are not the most deadly animals on this list their ability to act as a single unit is what makes them dangerous. If you tread and kill just one of these ants the other 50 million will come swarming after you. They have a very strong bite that once clamped will not break even if you tare their bodies off.

9. Puffer Fish

Even though they are really cute, don’t be fooled by their appearance. When they are feeling threatened they puff out their spines. The venom from the spines can paralyse you and cause you to stop breathing. If you eat puffer fish that hasn’t been prepared properly you can also die.

10. Stonefish

Stonefish are the most venomous fish on the planet. Thats not the only reason they are deadly though, they are also incredibly hard to spot and are capable of moving very fast. Their camouflage allows them to blend into the ocean floor. Stepping on one of its venomous spines could cost you a limb or even your life.
