These incredible one of a kind geological landscapes can be found in Venezuela and are thought to be some of the oldest geological land formations in the world. They remind us of the movie Avatar because of the way they appear to float above the clouds. The picture above is of Mount Roraima which can often be found floating amongst low cloud.
The formations can be formed in a number of ways including the upwelling of volcanic magma and the erosion caused by water and glaciers on mountain formations. These photos are so spectacular its like a little slice of heaven on earth.
