French artist and sculptor Edouard Martinet creates some of the most beautiful sculptors of insects we’ve ever seen by repurposing old scrap metal. The inspiration for these delicate and highly detailed sculptures comes from the artists early childhood.
At just 10 years of age his teacher taught Martinet and his class about insects and was somewhat obsessive about them, something that would later rub off on the artist later in life. Martinet sources the majority of his scrap metal and materials from car boot sales. He prefers to not weld the pieces of metal together but use screws instead which further adds to the elegant appearance.
