This entire community makes one mans day by learning sign language. Muharrem, a deaf man who lives in Istanbul, was left shocked and emotional when he walked through his neighbourhood one morning and everyone that he passed responded in sign language.
It was all made possible by a team from the Leo Burnett ad agency and samsung who spent a month setting up cameras and teaching those in the community sign language. The advert was created to raise awareness for Samsung’s new call center for the deaf and hard-hearing in Turkey.
Those who speak sign language are in a small minority, meaning Muharrem felt like an outsider within his own neighbourhood. When you see his reaction you can tell just how much this meant to him.
