Scientists Have Discovered a Real-Life Kermit the Frog in Costa Rica

A Kermit the Frog lookalike has been discovered by scientists in the jungles of Costa Rica. The newly discovered species is called Diane’s Bare-hearted Glassfrog (Hyalinobatrachium dianae) and gets it’s ‘Glassfrog’ name from its truly amazing translucent belly.

The frog has remained undiscovered since now because of its remote location in the Caribbean foothills of Costa Rica. The frog was discovered by Brian Kubicki, Stanley Salazar and Robert Puschendorf and named after one of the scientists mothers, Janet Diane Kubicki.
