This fascinating video by photographer Anand Varma reveals the first 21 days of a bee’s life in just 60 seconds. Bees pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food crop however they are threatened by the Varroa destructor mite. Anand was hired to document the process. Despite scientists developing a bee that is resistant to the Varroa mite, the bee still lacks other important traits such as the ability to store honey.
