Self Folding Origami Robot Can Carry, Walk, Swim and Then Dissolve into Nothing

Scientists at MIT have revealed some pretty cool footage and facts on their latest invention, a tiny robot that is capable of assembling itself like origami. At just 1.7cm square, the Untethered Miniature Origami Robo is powered by small magnets underneath its surface.

This allows it to walk on various surfaces, climb, swim in shallow water and even carry objects that weigh up to twice its own body weight. Perhaps the coolest part though is the fact that it can completley dissapear by dissolving itself in water, leaving behind only the magnets. This is the sort of thing you’d see in a James Bond movie, only that it’s real!. More info can be found here.
