Usually we associate deep water with danger and the mysterious creatures that lurk below, but amongst the scary and alien-like creatures is this tiny octopus, the cutest deep sea creature ever. Recently discovered, the new species might officially be named “adorabilis” for its ridiculously adorable looks.
The first specimens of this octopus were first discovered in 1990 and now researchers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in California are considering the scientific name Opisthoteuthis Adorabilis.
This tiny compact creature can be found living in the deep sea, with a 7 inch diameter and a web between it’s legs that allow it to free fall and parachute through the water. Watch the video above for more information on this adorable octopus.
