Because we are constantly bombarded by adverts everywhere we go, even as we drive, what artist Brian Kane did is pretty damn cool. As part of an art installation called “Healing Tool” he decided to buy billboard advertising time in order to make peoples boring commutes to and from work that little bit better.
The digital billboards cycle through various images of surrounding natural environments that ‘advertise’ absolutely nothing instead of the normal product placement or service advertisements you would typically see. The projects title “Healing Tool” is taken from the Photoshop tool which is used to cover or patch over errors, just as the photos try to blend the billboards into the surrounding landscape.
