Mural Gets Deliberately Painted Upside down to Reflect Right Side up in River

Ray Bartkus

Artist Ray Bartkus decided that he wanted to create a mural with a difference, one that would interact with Lithuania’s Šešupė River, so he decided to deliberately paint it upside down so that it would reflect the right way up. The mural is impressive, but when you capture a glimpse of it reflecting in the water is when it really comes to life.

Suddenly the calm surface of the river becomes a canvas depicting birds gracefully swimming across the water, people rowing in a boat and even someone diving in. You can see more of the artists work here.
