When You Find out What This Orphaned Kangaroo Is Hugging Your Heart Will Melt

Let’s face it, we all need some sort of companionship or friendship and this baby kangaroo is no different. This adorable image of a orphaned baby kangaroo was tweeted by Tim Beshara showing him hugging a cuddly toy. The kangaroo is named “Doodlebug,” and is being cared for by Beshara’s mother, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia.

It’s unclear how Doodlebug became separated from his mother although it’s thought that he either fell out of her pouch or that she has passed away. “He was a couple of months old when he was passed onto my mother’s wildlife company WIRES. She has since nursed it back to health and it is now hopping around the forest and coming back for the occasional feeding or cuddle, as the image shows,” Beshara told the Daily Mail.

When baby Kangaroo ‘Doodlebug’ lost her mother she was given to Gillian Abbott to be cared for.

Gillian gave Doodlebug a cuddly bear to play with and keep him company. Apparently they take well to them, forming a bond similar to that of a toddler and their favourite toy.

Now doodlebug doesn’t have to be so lonely, even without mum around.
