Oil spills can cause so much devastation to the surrounding environment and wildlife, especially when animals are left abandoned. Last month an oil spill occurred in Nefteyugansk, Russia and two of the animals caught up in the incident were tiny kittens that would have likely ended up dead if local Anatoly Tuptey hadn’t stepped in to rescue them.
Tuptey found the kittens struggling and crying for help and immediately knew he had to help, “My soul could not stand the cries, I went to see,” he told The Siberian Times. After wading into the spilt oil Tuptey used his t-shirt to dry them off before taking them home. Since then the two of them have been making themselves right at home, even becoming good friends with Tuptey’s pet dog. A happy ending to what could have been a tragic one for these adorable little kittens.
