Beautifully Designed Globalisation Lamp Shows How Earth Could Look in the Future

We’ve previously featured this elaborate labyrinth table by artist and furniture maker Benjamin Nordsmark and this time we’re sharing his latest creation, The Globalization Globe.

The globe was inspired by satellite photos of earth taken at night, with it’s ever increasing population the world is now lit up at night. To replicate this Nordsmark drilled thousands of holes into the surface of the globe to represent land whilst the dark areas represent the ocean.

You might notice that the land appears far brighter and more densely populated than earth actually is at night. Nordsmark wanted to show us what earth could look like in the future.
