In December last year photographer Connie Levenhagen managed to capture an absolutely adorable photo of a tiny one-day-old otter snuggling up to her mother who was floating on her back in a tide pool just outside of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.
According to staff at the zoo the pups mother was seeking refugee in the pool from stormy weather. If these photos and the video are anything to go by it looks like mother and pup have bonded pretty well. Could this be contender for the cutest animal moment of 2016? we think so.
