Artist Transforms Old Books into Beautiful Pieces of Jewellery

We’ve all got them – discarded books lying around the house that we’ve either read or just haven’t had the time too, but rather than letting them collect dust London-based artist Jeremy May decides to breathe new life into them, transforming them into stunning pieces of jewellery.

Using the pages from the books May ‘excavates’ images and text turning them into rings, bracelets, necklaces and more using the layering of pages to create fascinating patterns and colour combinations. Each piece of jewellery is made in the same way, beginning with a journey to the local thrift store to pick up some old books.

May then removes the books pages, hundreds of them at a time and laminates them together. After manipulating them into shape he then applies a gloss finish and finally a truly unique piece of jewellery is born.
