Artist Creates Impressive Illusion to Make Famous Louvre Pyramid ‘Disappear’

Only a few hours ago visitors to the famous Louvre Pyramid in Paris, France, would have been a little stumped to say the least, arriving only to find that the entire structure had been covered in a large photographic piece by French street artist JR.

The public artwork that wraps around the glass pyramid is part of an event titled “JR au Louvre,” and is made from a series of photographic prints of the surrounding museum that when viewed from the correct angle mean that the pyramid itself seems to vanish into the background. You can see a few more photos of the artwork in progress over on JR’s Instagram.
