Russian Fisherman Terrifies the Internet by Posting Photos of the Deep Sea Creatures He Catches

If you’ve already got a fear of open water then the Instagram account of Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov isn’t going to help as it’s full of some of the strangest looking deep sea creatures imaginable. Fedortsov works on a fishing trawler in Murmansk (northwest Russia) and uses his phone to take photos of the strange deep see aquatic life that gets caught in the fishing nets, many of which look like creatures from an alien world.

The posting of the photos has sparked some controversy however, with people arguing that the deep sea creatures should be left well alone as the change in pressure at the surface causes many of them to die. Whilst we have to agree with that sentiment there’s no taking away from the fact that Fedortsov’s photos are fascinating to look at and offer insight into a world that we still know little about.
