Artist Inks People’s Skin with Brightly Coloured Tattoo’s Inspired by Picasso

At the time of its creation artists such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braques could never have guessed that even a century later their art would be influencing pretty much every art form you can think of, including the work of tattoo artists like Mike Boyd who takes huge inspiration from the Cubist movement started by the two artists in the early 20th century.

The London-based tattoo artist creates vibrant cube shaped designs on his clients skin that clearly bare the hallmarks of Picasso’s works however he’s sure to add his own touch to the designs that take on the form of pop-culture figures as well as portraits and abstract scenes.

However, despite their abstract nature the tattoo are quite easily recognisable, they just force the eye to work a little harder in order to interpret what’s going on due to the broken and fragmented lines which further adds to their charm. You can see more of his work over on his website.
