Chinese Airline Teams up with Designer, Creates the Ultimate High Fashion Uniform

Raising the bar for cabin crew uniforms everywhere one airline in China has just unveiled their new haute couture uniforms and they look like they’ve come straight off the front page of a high fashion magazine.

Teaming up with designer Laurence Xu Hainan Airlines set about creating a uniform for its crew that not only looks good but also celebrates traditional Chinese art. Unveiled Xu at the Paris Couture Week the outfits are inspired by the Cheongsam which is a traditional Chinese dress, but also influenced by modern western fashion and trends.

The women’s outfits are inspired by traditional art of clouds, waves and a Chinese mythical bird that’s referred to as the Roc, whilst the mens uniform takes a slightly more subtle approach with double-breasted overcoats. Best dressed cabin crew around? you bet.
