High-speed trains are unsurprisingly a quick and efficient way to cover long distances in a short amount of time and are a great alternative to flying but unless you’ve been on one or have them where you live it’s hard to appreciate just how quick they can be.
In this video we see TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) train in France keeping up with a fighter jet on an inaugural run on a newly opened line, travelling at a seriously impressive speed just shy of 200 miles per hour.
The Dassault Rafale fighter jet is of course travelling at a pretty low air speed and if it were to speed up to it’s 1,188 mile per hour top speed it would leave the train for dust, but it’s still pretty impressive that the TGV can keep up with a fighter jet, even at low speed.
