“Normal Barbie” Doll Has Realistic Body Shape and Imperfections like Real People

Barbie dolls have come under increasing fire from critics for teaching kids to aspire to body types that simply aren’t real. Nickolay Lamm decided to create a normal looking barbie to tackle the problem. The doll named Lammily has the realistic body proportions of a 19-year-old girl and comes with optional pimples, acne, freckles and stretch marks.

There is a sticker pack that comes with the doll allowing the kids to apply imperfections to normal barbies skin whenever they see fit. Lam told Huffpost the reason behind creating the doll was because he “wanted to show that average is beautiful and that we shouldn’t compare ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards. And I feel Barbie kind of symbolizes that.”
