Travel Around the World in This Video Made from 3,300 Google Maps Screenshots

Actually travelling to places costs money, time and takes a lot of planning which is why it’s so easy to just stay indoors and watch a video on the internet and what better way to see the world from your own home than through this incredible hyperlapse made from 3,305 Google Maps screenshots.

Matteo Archondis spent two days gathering the Google Maps screenshots using Chrome’s developer tools to remove all of its onscreen features before tracking and stabilising each frame to create the smooth illusion of a timelapse clip.

Who are we kidding though, there’s never going to be a proper substitute for travelling and seeing the world but this video is still impressive all the same.
