Norwegian stencil artist Martin Whatson‘s combines grey scale characters and human figures with vibrant street art work to create a beautiful contrast that transforms normal brick facades and city side streets into incredible works of art that are sometimes politically motivated or have an underlying message left open to interpretation.
Although Whatson now finds most of his work less politically charged he often takes inspiration from the landscapes and people that surround him, driven by the urge to find beauty in the places that everyone else can’t which also falls hand in hand with his interest in decay, an aspect that shines through in his artistic style that involves a mixture of stencil art and graffiti.
