The opening of the Sochi Paralympic games included appearances from Russian President himself, Vladimir Putin, both teams from the United States, and Ukraine, as well as a giant boat called “Peace”.

The opening ceremony 2014 started friday at the Fisht Olympic Stadium.

The ceremony was elaborate, much like the Sochi olympics just gone.

The moment an icebreaker boat entered the show, ironically named “Peace”.

Athletes from the United States made a full appearance.

Ukraine made an appearance, but only one athlete attended.
