Meet Bentley the Corgi who is sadly unable to walk due to a disease found in older dogs known as Degenerative myelopathy which is a progressive disease of the spinal cord. The disease is similar to multiple sclerosis which is suffered by humans.
Despite no longer being able to walk without great difficulty, Bentley is still one of the happiest pooches out there all thanks to his owner.
Here is the frame for the wheelchair for Bentley first being put together. It was made of PVC pipe so that changes to the frame were easy to make.
Here they used tarp as a prototype for the string and cable ties to attach it to the the frame. It was all very quickly put together at this point but wait until you see the finished product.
At this point they painted the frame and painted the wheels with glow in the dark paint!.
Here is Bentley in his finished wheelchair loving life and being able to walk again.
Just look at that smile. His owner says that since Bentley has got his new wheels his attitude has completely changed. He drags his rear legs a little bit but he’s been more confident in trying to use them. Since getting his new wheels Bentley has attempted to walk without his wheels more often.
