Photographs Taken aboard the International Space Station Reveal Beautiful Cloud Formations

We have covered stunning photographs taken from the International Space Station before, and these photographs taken by geophysicist Alexander Gerst focus on the amazing shadows that are cast from clouds, sometimes stretching for thousands of miles. Since his arrival in June this year Gerst has captured plenty of amazing spectacles aboard the Space Station such as hurricanes, storms and the amazing patterns that are formed by man-made settlements and naturally occurring landscapes.

You can keep on with new pictures that Gerst takes on a daily basis by visiting his Facebook or Flickr.
