We already know that drones are impressive, you just have to take a look at some of the stunning photographs or videos they are able to capture but as if that wasn’t enough the drone hobbyists at Flite Test has created a helicarrier drone capable of lifting off the ground with another drone onboard and then hovering whilst the second drone takes off.
The carrier is a modified drone quadcopter with four rotors to balance it and as you can see it does a decent job of supporting the second drone/remote controlled plane as it takes off. How long will it be before we see a full aircraft carrier sized version like the one in Avengers? probably a long time.
The amount of force required to even lift a human off the ground is way beyond what any rotor based drone could achieve so for now this awesome experiment remains just that.
