Amazing Photos Reveal the Fascinating Life of Sea Gipsies

The Bajau normally live in small boats, sailing wherever the current takes them and relying on their fishing gear in order to make a living. This nomadic way of life has earned them the title “sea gipsies”. Many still live in isolated areas off shore in small floating villages, whilst a small number have settled on small islands.

Located in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, the Bajau’s way of life is increasingly under threat from over fishing. These stunning photographs taken by french photographer Réhahn capture their amazing lifestyle.
