This video by Brave New Films takes a look at different studies that reflect what it’s like to live in America as a black or a white person. It offers insight into how a black person is statistically disadvantaged when it comes to various scenarios in everyday life.
Apparently just trying to get a job can be harder. A study conducted by the University of Chicago showed that résumés with black sounding names were 50% less likely to even get a call back. The video also covers other topics such as buying a house, being arrested for marijuana possession or even buying a car.
It ends with “If this isn’t racism, what is? Racism isn’t over.”
