At just 5-months-old, baby Alia has the most unique best friend ever, a sloth named Daisy. According to Alia’s parents, Julia and Jason Heckathorn, the two of them do pretty much everything together!
The Heckathorn’s are no strangers to unusual pets. The family also includes a kangaroo, anteater, sugar gliders and a cat, but Alia and Daisy seemed to be drawn to each other.
They believe that Alia and Daisy meeting was meant to be. At the time of filling out the adoption papers for Daisy they had no idea that Alia was on her way.
Two days after Alia was born, along came Daisy.
The two of them do pretty much everything together.
Such as wearing matching outfits.
Taking naps.
And getting hugs off of mum.
Alia’s mother says that “When Alia and Daisy sit next to each other, Daisy sniffs Alia while Alia nuzzles into Daisy’s soft fur. They are so sweet together.”
As a children’s book author and someone who is involved in conservation projects, Julia is happy that she can share her love for animals with her daughter.
