Estonian Students Build a Giant Wooden Megaphone to Listen to the Forest

A forest clearing in estonia’s võru county is thought to be a relaxing place for meditation which is why students from the Estonian Academy of Arts decided to build three giant megaphones made from wood. It may seem unusual and rather random but their thinking behind it is brilliant, to enhance the sounds of the forest.

The large acoustic installations amplify the sounds made by the forest whilst the design blends into its surroundings. One of Estonia’s biggest gifts is the large and vastly empty forests that sit in perfect silence. What the students have done is further enhance this and they done it in the most beautiful way.

In total there are three giant wooden megaphones that can be used to sit in, relax, read and for shelter, all of them are accessible to members of the public that happen to be passing by.
